Experience with Electric Football:
Received my first game in 1976 right after the Bluebonnet Bowl (Texas beat Colorado) we came back to my grandparent’s house and there it was-1976 620 Rams vs Cowboys!
I played for about three years, then electronic football and Intellivision corrupted me, sadly….
My mother passed away a year and half ago and I started to pour over old pictures and I came across the photo of my family and I setting up the 620.
I thought, “I wonder if any are available online?” I saw them and said how cool…thought maybe I’ll get one. Then on a hunch, I thought I wondered if anyone was still playing, so I checked you tube. Boom! I was shocked at the contemporary set up, speed, strategy and design of the game. I started back playing solitaire on an ultimate board and then looked up a league-Mid Ohio and became interested in competitive play. I have a great mentor who shows me the ropes Frank Jacobs. He’s awesome! Also, I met Paul Bartles and ordered some fields, and then decided to create my own and Paul and I have been working together to serve the EF community for about 7 months now. Paul is awesome too!
Current Service to the EF community:
I design field covers, side rails, and stickers for anyone in the EF community; I also (thanks to Paul) design Stiga Table Hockey covers for their game line. All of this work is super fun, a nice change of pace from my job, and counts towards community service for my profession as well! Touchdown!!
Thanks, Marc, for compiling this information!!
