The Great Plains EFL

The Grat Palins Electric Football League was a league operated in the areas of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska in the early 2000’s.

In a recent trip to the Kansas City Area and the home of former MFCA President Lynn “Weirdwolf” Schmidt, he was kind and generous enough to donate some items to the Museum from his personal collection of ELECTIRC FOOTBALL memorabilia.

Included in this collection is one of the most comprehensive records of a league that I have had the good fortune of coming across. This is exactly the kind of thing that I was hoping to be able to preserve in the archives of the NEFGM Library.

This is the only “Media Guide” of an Electric football League that I know of to exist.

Here are the Rules and Regulations of the Great Palins EFL

Here is an internet transcript of an article that appeared in the Kansas City Star featuring the GPEFL.

For me personally it is great to have something like this to see and read about and get to know a bit more about some of the people who have played this great game. It is my hope that some of the participants of this league will see this article and leave their comments and memories of playing in this historic league.

After all, that is what is the greatest part of this game and hobby and the best part of the history of ELELCTIRC FOOTBALL.
